While you can generally choose the right size for everyday clothes, the selection of caregiving clothing can vary depending on the individual's physical condition, such as whether they use a wheelchair, wear adult diapers, require assistance with changing clothes, or experience swelling.
Height and weight guidelines (for women)
- Height 145-155cm, Weight 40-50kg: Size S
- Height 150-160cm, Weight 45-55kg: Size M
- Height 155-165cm, Weight 50-60kg: Size L
- Height 160-170cm, Weight 55-70kg: LL size
- Height 165cm or taller, weight 65kg or heavier: Size 3L or larger
Height and weight alone are not the only factors that can determine this.
If you need extra room around your stomach, have larger hips, use adult diapers, or experience swelling, a different size than the general guideline may be more comfortable. On the other hand, it's not always the case that a larger size is better just because you're receiving assistance; it's also important that the clothing opens in the front for easy changing and that the fabric is stretchy. Clothing that is too large can wrinkle easily and restrict movement.
